The Buncombe County Schools Communications Department is responsible for maintaining effective communications with the community at large and within the school system itself. We provide media relations, public relations, crisis and safe schools communications for the county public school system.

The Communications Department seeks to keep parents and community stakeholders informed, keeping them abreast of the latest programs, events, initiatives, and issues impacting schools and students. The overarching purpose is to develop a framework of support for schools and for school system priorities. The Communications Department works to build advocates among all stakeholder groups through community engagement activities and via multifaceted communication products, including print and electronic information pieces, video, and social and traditional media.
