A mother and child read a book together.

Thursday’s open house event at Hominy Valley Elementary was such a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with the heart of the school community!

Held just a few weeks into the school year, it was a chance for parents and students to tour the building and strengthen relationships. Families got to meet their children's teachers, see classrooms up close, and talk about lessons, expectations, and early student progress. It's those personal conversations that help set the tone for a supportive and successful school year. Plus, we all know that kids love to show off their favorite parts of the school, whether it’s a special classroom or the playground. Speaking of which, the playground was buzzing with excitement as kids had the chance to unwind and play while parents connected with staff and other families.

Events like these are what make the Hominy Valley Elementary community so special. It's about creating strong connections between home and school, so everyone feels involved and informed as we move forward into the year!
