Celebration at Fairview Elementary's gym, framed by baloon arch of gold and blue

Fairview Elementary school was bestowed the prestigious National Blue Ribbon award for 2023 from the U.S. Department of Education. Friday, February 23, was a celebration of this high achievement. This award, bestowed to only 313 public schools in the entire nation, is a high honor.

“The coveted National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content,” says the U.S. Dept. Of Education’s website. “The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.”

“We received this award for our hard work in our school with the ways in which we follow our RISE expectations and learn together everyday,” said principal Bonnie Bolado. “We could not have done this without every single one of the people in this room. You all have worked hard, listened to your teachers, and have shown people across the nation just how great it is to be a Fairview Cardinal.  Fairview Cardinals, never forget that when we rise together, we soar!”

Congratulations to the students, faculty, staff, parents and community of Fairview Elementary. They join Pisgah Elementary, Emma Elementary, and A.C. Reynolds High School as Blue Ribbon Schools.
