Dr. Jackson continued his listening and learning tour with Avery’s Creek Elementary’s (ACES) Rams!

ACES opened in February of 1996, serving about 420 students in grades K - 5. The school grew to over 900 students before the Intermediate school opened and ACES became K - 4. The school has gone through several renovations to add classrooms with the most recent renovations taking place in 2018 to expand the cafeteria. The following year a new Specialists wing was built with updated Art and Music classrooms and a renovated Gymatorium.

ACES was the pilot school for the Spanish Immersion Dual Language program in Buncombe County Schools which began the 2012/13 school year and continues to go strong. The school serves a diverse population of students with a large number of multilingual learners.

“I believe one of the greatest things about our school is the diverse population of students we serve,” said principal Caroline Lynch. “The opportunity for students to learn from one another and share different perspectives is an asset, and contributes to building a more inclusive community.”
