On March 9, students from Glen Arden Elementary School’s Lighthouse Team greeted Dr. Jackson at the school’s entrance to welcome him as he continued his 45 schools in 45 days tour.

Glen Arden is a community school with a little over 500 students nestled among quiet neighborhoods in Arden. The sprawling campus provides students the opportunity to be active learners both inside and outside the classroom. Glen Arden is a “Leader in Me” school, focusing on “The 7 Habits of Happy Kids.” It is home to a Dual Language Spanish Immersion program with eight international teachers and 149 students, and it is a global school where students learn about different continents, cultures, geography, traditions, and values from around the world. Glen Arden is blessed with a very active and involved Parent Teacher Organization, which works hard in support of our students, staff, and community. Constructed in 1971, Glen Arden recently celebrated 50 years during the 2021-2022 school year.

“At Glen Arden, we are committed to student success as we elevate our students and prepare them for their tomorrow,” said Principal Jamie Slagle. “Each day we learn and grow together as readers, writers, scientists, and mathematicians through engaging learning experiences and cooperative learning. We take pride in our work and celebrate our successes as Glen Arden Rams.”
